Pardubice celebrate advancement to the next stage of Eurochallenge Cup
In the very first season at european scene the team of Pardubice celebrates the advancement to the next stage of the EuroChallenge Cup. Thanks to four wins out of six games, Pardubice secured second spot in the group behind the french team from Roanne.
Pardubice thus lost only two games, both away, one in Prostejov and one in Roanne a mainly due to last to games, when first Pardubice got back at Prostejov by a big home win and then were able to succeed in Ukraine against Goverla despite a very dramatic ending and so they can enjoy the satisfaction from advancing.
At all games Pardubice could rely on their american squad, that took care of most of the team´s points, which meant that after the first group they finished with very nice stats. Marcus Arnold had 17pts/game, Maurice Hampton 16.8pts/g and Corey Muirhead had 14.3pts/g.
As for the czech players, traditionally Pardubice could count on Zbynek Pospisil (9.6pts, 4.6reb, 1.4as/game) a Petr Bohačík (5.8pts, 4.2reb/game).
One fact worth mentioning is that Ondrej Peterka (year ´91) was able to get on the floor in 5 games and despite his still young age began to get his cup experiences.
Pardubice can look forward to continue in the next stage of the cup after New Year´s, where they are going to meet very attractive opponents - Besiktas Istanbul, Fuenlabrada and Niznyj Novgorod.
